Operating Procedures for the Dexter Lions Club

As of May 1, 2004

  1. Last years Club Lion of the Year will be the Dexter Lions Clubs nominee for the District 11-B1 "Lion of the Year" for the upcoming year, nomination form to be filled out by current President and mailed to District Governor.

  2. The Past President of the Dexter Lions Club will be the Membership & Retention Chairman, and will hold a seat on the Board of Directors of the Dexter Lions Club.

  3. The Third Vice President of the Dexter Lions Club will be the Sight Conservation Chairmen and handle all eye glass, hearing aid, and white cane requests that the Dexter Lions Club receives.

  4. The Dexter Lions Club has set a limit on how much money the club will pay for for glasses, frames, and exams a total not to exceed $150.00. The two Eye Glass Business's in Dexter have agreed to charge $79.00 for single lens, $99.00 for bifocals including frames, and $40.00 for an eye exam.

  5. All letters received by the Dexter Lions Club from a student attending the Dexter Community Schools and asking for money, the Board of Directors will research each letter, determine the need and award from $0.00 to a max of $250.00.

  6. The Chairmen of a Project, Fund Raiser, or Club Event is responsible to fill out a Project Report Form and present it to the current president, and Board of Directors at the next Board meeting. Forms can be obtained from the President or Secretary. The Secretary will keep these forms for future reference.

  7. A minimum of $10,000.00 will be kept in the savings account to buy next  years Christmas Trees, as determined by the Treasure.

  8. The Maximum amount for a check that the Treasure of the Dexter Lions Club can write shall not exceed $250.00 without the consent of the  Board of Directors.

  9. Any Dexter Lion who attends a Zone, Region, or District Meeting, the Club will pay for his meals and registration. 1 exception is that if there is an overnight stay, such as the District Convention, the Club will pay 1/2 the expenses for room and board. Special exceptions can be brought up before the board of Directors.

  10. Any Lion in the Dexter Lions Club who signs up, and does not attend a Lions event where money is charged, and the Chairmen of the event is not notified in advance of the deadline, the Lion will be charged for the event. example { Christmas Party, Awards Night, etc. }

  11. The Second Vice President will be in charge of Club publicity, (news paper articles, District 11-B1 Newsletter, pictures, advertising, etc.)
