6-7-2020 - LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION: LCIF has been busy over the past few months providing financial aid where needed. LCIF has provided over 3.7 million dollars for 218 COVID-19 project grants since May 15, 2020. Just recently, LCIF sent $30,000.00 to three Districts in Michigan because of the flooding caused by the Dam breaking in Midland. These funds were requested to help support the people who were affected by the flooding. It only took 24 hours for LCIF to send the funds to the Midland area.

3-2-2020 - Dexter Lions Hand Out Coloring Books & Crayons To all New Incoming Dexter Kindergartners: A great surprise for the parents of the new class of Dexter kindergartners as the Lions Club passed out a new "Color Me Dexter" coloring book and a box of crayons for the kids. The Lions have been a long time supporter of the arts in Dexter with their annual Peace Poster contest for 7th & 8th graders. Teaching young kids to color helps them develop hand-strength,stimulates creativity, encourages self-expression, improves fine motor coordination, helps develop focus, boundaries, structure and spatial awareness. Dexter has some amazing artist including Freshman Claire Vander Haagen who helped pen some of the drawings in the book. While coloring the kids will be able to learn about some of the historic buildings in town. If you'd like your own coloring book you can pick one up at the Dexter Bakery or the Dexter Creamery.

12-2-2019 - Christmas trees and the Dexter Lions: A holiday tradition: The Dexter Lions celebrated 40 years this past April, but it was 38 years ago when the Christmas tree sales began as a fundraiser.
