DEXTER LIONS SPONSOR PEACE POSTER CONTEST

 

 The Dexter Lions have again sponsored The Lions Clubs International Peace Poster contest.  This is done each year in late October with students at Mill Creek Middle School. Over 75 students participated and awards will be given to the top three posters. This year the first place award went to Anya Dazzo. Second place was awarded to Delia Smaby and third place was awarded to Mary Hobbs. The Dexter Lions provided donuts and cider to all the participants. The first three poster winners will receive cash awards from the Dexter Lions. Anya’s poster which took first place in the local competition will now be sent on for District, State and possible International competition. Congratulations to all the participants!

SCHOLORSHIPS -  This year, the Lions awarded 4 -$1500.00 scholarships at the May 31st Dexter High School Honors Convocation. The Ron Raiford Memorial Scholarship went to Logan Lopez. The Dexter Lions scholarships went to: Noah Enyedy , Anya Kipke and Bethany Simons.  Read more

WHITE CANE- The Dexter Lions Annual White Cane collection was held on Friday, May 26th and Saturday, May 27th. There were 21 Dexter Lions who helped out on the project this year. This year we collected $2,474.00 which was again a great amount to provide to our vision and sight projects. Busch’s was the site where we collected the most money. Leader Dogs for the Blind will receive $1000.00, Penrickton Center for Blind Children will receive $1000.00 and Eversight will receive $474.00. Thank you to all the Dexter Lions who assisted on this project and thank you to Lion Patty Dobbs for doing a great job in chairing the White Cane project.
