Membership Update

The Dexter Lions have certainly met the challenge of bringing in new members

to the club! Last December, we added 12 new members and in May we have now added 8 new

members who will be inducted at the June 2nd meeting.

Please welcome the 8 new members:

Gail Girbach ( sponsor- Jerry Black); Christine Marquis ( sponsor-Rex Reeve); Donna Piper

( sponsor- Terry Walters); Richard Range ( sponsor-Jerry Black); Alysia and Jordon Styrk

( sponsor- Rex Reeve) ; Sharon Wheeler ( sponsor- Mary Black ) and Greg Marquis ( sponsor-

Christine Marquis). Dexter Lions have added 20 new members to the club this year! That is a

new record! The Dexter Lions presently have 70 members. Keep it going. DG Terri Huffman will

attend the meeting on June 2ndat DAPCO to induct the new members.

Orientation - One important aspect for new Lions is providing them with an orientation about

Lions. There are many aspects of the Lions organization that are not always mentioned and it is important for new Lions to hear about the structure of Lions and the projects they sponsor as well as learning about other opportunities for Lions members and to answer questions the may have.

Dexter Lions members pay dues to the District (11-B1), State (MD-11) and International Lions.  The annual dues are $75.00 from July 1st to June 30th each year.  There is an initiation fee of $35.00 to Lions Clubs International for new members.  Dues are prorated if joining during the membership year.

Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. Our 1.36 million members – who perform community service in over 200 countries and geographic areas – are different in many ways, but share a core belief: community is what we make it. Our members are a network of individual clubs united in helping others and improving their communities.

*If a person a veteran or under 30 years of age and enrolled in school, the initiation fee of $35.00 is waived Lions Clubs International.

*If 2 people in a household (husband-wife, father-son, father-daughter, mother-son, mother-daughter) join their total individual dues are $5.00 less per person.
